It's a beautiful day in Maine! * Volume 2, Issue 3, April 2008
As the days begin to lengthen considerably our thoughts turn to the upcoming season. After running camp for 11 years we are still just as excited for another season to begin! We thank the many of you that we see on a regular basis for your continuing patronage, for those of you that have not come to visit for awhile we have made some great improvements in recent years. The Barn is now totally renovated- complete with an antique American shuffleboard table and screened porch facing the field. We have a new Cedarworks play set for the little ones complete with a climbing wall. The cabins have been spruced up regularly. Cabin one "Beach Haven" has new interior walls and will soon have a larger porch on the the beach side of the cabin. Cabin eight "Pine Cone" had new walls installed in the spring of '07. We have added a tandem kayak to our fleet at the beach- that brigs us up to three kayaks and one canoe available for your use at no charge. This summer our meals will feature local organic produce from Winterberry Farm in Belgrade, ME. We are excited to keep our supply more local, supporting our local economy and providing you with a fresher product! As of this mailing we have one, two and three bedroom cabins available still for the week of July 5th- 12th, as well as one bedrooms through most of June and July. If you have not booked yet, consider us! We are just a tank or two of gas away and you can park it for the whole week. What better place to get your family together in our relaxed informal atmosphere. With three meals served and daily maid service it is sure to be a complete vacation for the entire family. Take some time away from the complicated stressful world to pass along your common sense wisdom to the next generation, take some time to slow down and appreciate the important things in life. A note for the fishermen: as of April 23rd the ice is out! Finally, upon the request of the Putnam family, we announce that all are invited to the Memorial Service for George Putnam. It will be held at Lorimer Chapel at Colby College on June 13th at 2:00 pm. There will be a reception following at the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni house from 3:00-5:00pm.
